Kaknock Foundation is a voluntary non sectarian, non profit making youth organization receiving special training and skills that enhance youth and children’s ability to recognize, respond to and recover from major community health hazard in seeking to create safer and happier lives for adolescents mostly through child grassroot center program.
It originated in Busukuma sub county Wakiso District as a child youth program for kaknock foundation in 2007. Its goal was to support and encourage teens to live a healthy life. By 2008 the program had received much attention and an overwhelming number of requests for help from all over the county. In response, the first child youth grassroots center conference was developed and soon spread to villages and schools with main offices at Busukuma sub county headquarters.
In 2009 the program shifted to Kiwenda new where it’s now operating. Its a success that it led to further operational areas. The program has been successfully adopted in a number of villages, primary and high schools where sufficient children, youth and adults have been trained in the program. Mostly the program is due to extend to youth and children further.
CygC; This program activities address adolescence sexual reproductive health, youth resource and home health education. Its youth oriented and fun, targets a wide variety of youth and children in life changing.
Kaknock foundation uses local clubs led by youth, supported by adults sponsors in this program to reach other youths and children with life skills and behavior change message regardless of their religion or political affiliation .It aims at raising the living standards of the community in health as whole but giving children and youth in and out of school the first priority. Participants who have attended a one-month conference and have made a commitment to life change start clubs.
The CYgC program focuses on positive alternatives to handling problems so that peer pressure and influence is seen as unnecessary and undesirable.
The CYgC program features personal support and encouragement of all participants. Positive interpersonal communication is taught. Youth and children are trained to take initiative and reach out to teach and encourage other youth and children in choosing for behavior change.
The CYgC objective; is to help children and youth make a personal commitment to abstaining from all unhealthy behaviors that may expose them to physical, mental and psychological disorder. The program does not work effectively at rehabilitating addicts, but will prove helpful in support to children living in families where expose exists
